Indiewire (via Deadline) is reporting that Bella is one of three actresses testing for the lead role in Disney’s ‘Cinderella’ alongside Margot Robbie and Lily James.

After a bit of a rocky start which saw Mark Romanek leave, with Kenneth Branagh dropping in to to replace him, Disney is soldiering ahead with “Cinderella.” Cate Blanchett has stayed on board as the evil stepmother during the tumult that has also seen a range of names including Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson, Alicia Vikander and Gabriella Wilde flirt with the title role, with none locking to place. And it seems Disney is continuing the hunt.

Deadline reports that Bella Heathcote, Lily James and Margot Robbie are all testing for the lead, and that “one of them will likely walk away with the title role.” Heathcote might have the most auteur credentials of the trio, having appeared in films by Tim Burton (“Dark Shadows”), David Chase (“Not Fade Away”) and Andrew Dominik (“Killing Them Softly” — scenes cut) across the past year. Meanwhile, James has appeared in “Downton Abbey” as Lady Rose MacClare while Aussie soap star Robbie has been earning tabloid time thanks to appearing opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in the upcoming “The Wolf Of Wall Street” (she was also in the short-lived “Pan Am”).

Just a small update today. Bella covers Elle Japan’s March 2013 issue, however it’s the same photoshoot from her “Almost Famous” spread that she did in Elle US’s January 2013 issue but if I can find scans from Elle Japan, I’ll add them to the gallery anyway. Wow, some more great film news! According to Variety, Bella has join the untitled romantic comedy project, tentatively titled ‘Laffer’, from Marc Lawrence and Castle Rock. The film, starring Hugh Grant and Marisa Tomei, follows a creatively washed up, divorced and broke former award-winning screenwriter, played by Grant, who is forced to take on a job teaching screenwriting at a small college. Bella Heathcote will play one of his students.

After Bella attended the CHANEL Pre-Oscar Dinner Sunday, she stepped out several hours later looking absolutely stunning at the 2013 Vanity Fair Oscar Party in West Hollywood sporting a very classic 60′s inspired look. Last night Bella attended the Chanel Pre-Oscar dinner at Madeo Restaurant in Los Angeles. Photos from the event have been added to the gallery.

According to Variety, Bella has joined ‘The Curse of Downers Grove’ alongside Penelope Mitchell, Lucas Till, Jill Hennessy and Kevin Zegers. More information about the film is below:

Oren Segal, Jason Dubin and Chiara Trento are producing, with lensing set for spring. Martini, who directed “Hick,” is helming from a script he co-wrote with Bret Easton Ellis, adapted from 2001′s Michael Hornburg novel. Story centers on a paranoid high school senior who’s worried about an apparent curse that takes the life of one student every year at the school.
